FAQ

Q: What is New Brunswick Ciclovia?
A:  New Brunswick Ciclovia closes more than 3 miles of streets to city traffic so residents can walk, push baby strollers, skate, run, bike, use wheelchairs and walkers, rollerblade, dance, and utilize the roadways in countless creative and active ways.

Q: What are the hours?
A: The roads along the designated route will be vehicle-free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Municipal crews will begin setting up street closures at approximately 8 a.m., with full closure in effect by approximately 9:30 a.m. At 4:00 p.m. the roads begin re-opening to cars.

Q: Will there be tow-away zones?
A: Yes. There is NO on-street parking on the route during the event. The city will post temporary tow-away/no parking signs on the Friday, before the Ciclovia is to occur. Tow-away/no parking hours will be in effect from 7:00 a.m.  until after the event concludes.

Q: Will all streets that cross the route be closed to traffic?

Q: Are there vendors along the route?
A: No. There are no authorized vendors along the New Brunswick Ciclovia route, however, businesses along the route will remain open. As of 2018, some Ciclovia routes/dates may include the Mercado Esperanza, where local food vendors are allowed with proper registration through the Mercado Esperanza, not Ciclovia.
